WHOLE-CAMPUS ANNOUNCEMENTS:

We are looking forward to welcoming you to our upcoming Report Card Conferences. These conferences are a wonderful opportunity to discuss your student progress, celebrate their achievements, and work together to support their continued growth. We can not wait to see you Tuesday

As we partner with you for your student success, we also want to ask for your support regarding student attendance.

A student is defined as chronically absent when they miss 10 percent or more of school days, which is about 2 days per month, regardless of whether the absences are excused or unexcused. Chronic absenteeism is also a key accountability metric monitored by our district and state. Currently, over 20 percent of our 11th grade students and over 35 percent of our 12th grade students are chronically absent.

These data points are critical because daily presence makes a significant difference. When students are in class, learning content is much easier and they receive direct guidance and support from our teachers. Conversely, missing class creates gaps in learning and momentum that can be difficult to catch up on.

We fully understand that families navigate various challenges, health issues, and commitments, and we are here to support you. We look forward to discussing how we can work together to ensure your student is in class every day and set up for success.

Thank you for your partnership!

Dr. Gill

ATHLETIC ANNOUNCEMENTS:

11TH GRADE ANNOUNCEMENTS

9th – 11th graders will participate in the Practice ACT on November 4.

Students should come to school with:

– Their chromebooks (charged)

– Their chargers (just in case)

– Their calculators

This day is going to be an early dismissal! Students will dismiss at 1:40! Please be sure that your scholar has transportation arranged for Wednesday, November 4. Our seniors will be out that day completing Post Secondary Success needs (college trips, scholarships and entrance applications, and community service), so if your student carpools with a senior, please be aware that they will need alternate transportation.

We are so excited to provide our scholars with the opportunity to practice ACT testing and get a feel for the exam, the environment, and the stamina involved in such a test. Thank you for all that you do to support our school community.

12TH GRADE ANNOUNCEMENTS

Senior Postsecondary Success Exploration Day is THIS Wednesday, 11/4. Seniors should not report to school. Instead, they should complete college and/or scholarship applications, attend a college visit/tour, or complete community service. Grades 9-11 will be taking the Practice ACT and should attend school.

FAFSA Night #2 will be on Monday, November 2nd, 2026 from 5-7 pm. Please bring your student and their chromebook. Attendance is optional but encouraged.

You might need the following information or documents as you fill out the 2027–28 FAFSA form:

  • All contributors’ FSA IDs
  • Student and parent SSNs
  • Tax returns from 2025
  • Records of child support received
  • Current balances of cash, savings, and checking accounts
  • Net worth of investments, businesses, and farms

Additionally, here are a few updates about the 27-28 FAFSA:

1 – If parents are married and filing jointly, only one parent will need to complete the FAFSA after being invited by the student.

2 – It is better for the student to start and fully complete/submit the FAFSA, then invite the parent to complete the FAFSA, then the parent completes the FAFSA. If done out of order, the forms can have trouble connecting (but it’s not impossible).

Please reach out to your student’s Postsecondary Success counselor with any questions.
