What will it mean to be human in a world shaped by AI?
Join us for a one-of-a-kind immersive experience designed to help students, families and Valor staff explore that question together. Through live actors and interactive scenarios, you’ll step into possible futures and experience firsthand both the incredible possibilities and the real risks of a world increasingly shaped by artificial intelligence.
This special event, created in partnership with the Rithm Project, is coming to Valor for the first time ever at a school. You’ll leave with new questions, new perspectives, and an opportunity to think together about how we can use AI without losing what matters most: our humanity and our connections to one another.
We invite you to join us in experiencing the future and helping shape what comes next for our Valor community. Click here to register.
There are two ways for students and families to participate (you can do either one or both):
1. Attend the Thursday October 8th 8:30-9:30am Community-Wide Opening Session – this opening session, led by Michelle Culver from The Rithm Project with support from Daren Dickson from Valor’s Innovation Team, will frame the current moment and the intersection of AI and Human Connection in education and how our community might engage and respond in ways that reflect our human-centered values.
2. Attend one of five 2.5-hour Immersive Experiences offered October 7th, 8th, and 9th – These sessions are intentionally multigenerational and will include families, students, and Valor faculty. Each Immersive Experience will include a 30m introductory session, a 60m immersive experience where participants will be immersed in 4 different possible “AI futures”, and a 60m debrief where the group will communally make sense of their experience and share how they think Valor should respond and prepare.
- Please register here by selecting the time you’d like to attend. Spots will be filled on a first come, first served basis. We highly encourage students and caregivers to register and attend the event together. You must be able to attend the entire 2.5 hour session. We will email confirmation of registration and attendance to participants in mid-September.
- In addition, for those who attend an Immersive Experience, we will have an opportunity to attend a Friday Oct 9th Community Meaning Making Lunch from 1:30-2:30p. This will be a smaller group that will help “make sense” of our communal experience and recommend concrete AI Norms, Policy, and Design Guardrails for our community.
