CELEBRATIONS & COMMUNITY CONNECTION
May brings opportunities for our Valor community to learn, celebrate, and reflect together. This month, we recognize Lupus Awareness Month, Jewish American Heritage Month, Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, and Mental Health Awareness Month. Each observance invites us to honor the histories, experiences, and identities that shape our community.
Upcoming Religious & National Observances

Civic Engagement
- While national politics often receives the most attention, local elections shape systems our families interact with daily, including schools, neighborhoods, public services, and community resources. For Valor, civic engagement reflects our belief that every family brings wisdom and lived experience that should be represented in decisions impacting our community. Davidson County voters showed up for the May 5 primaries. Missed voting on May 5? No worries! The next election is Thursday, August 6, and early voting begins July 17. Be sure to check your voter registration status here and make a plan to participate.
