CAMPUS ANNOUNCEMENTS

Autism Acceptance Month: Coin Drive & Walk

April has been a meaningful time of celebrating Autism Acceptance across our school community, and our coin drive continues through May 7th.

Students are working together through their Prides to give back, with all contributions going directly toward supporting our Harbor classrooms—helping expand opportunities and experiences for students.

We’re looking forward to bringing everyone together for our Autism Acceptance Walk on May 8th, where we’ll celebrate community, connection, and the importance of inclusion.

If you’d like to be part of the walk or learn more, please reach out to Ms. Donaldson (jdonaldson@valorcollegiate.org).

CELEBRATIONS & COMMUNITY CONNECTION

May at Valor is a season of rich celebration, inviting us to honor the diverse traditions and lived experiences that strengthen our community. This month provides a unique opportunity to deepen our connections, elevate diverse voices, and reflect on the many identities that shape who we are together.

  • May 5 | LAG B’OMER (Jewish): Celebrates the end of a divine-sent plague and/or Roman occupation during Rabbi Akiva’s lifetime.
  • May 5 | CINCO DE MAYO: Commemorates Mexico’s victory over French forces at the Battle of Puebla in 1862. Local family-friendly festivities include the all-day Plaza Mariachi Celebration or Pancho & Lefty’s block parties.
  • May 10 | MOTHER’S DAY: A day for children of all ages to show appreciation for their mothers and mother figures.
