CAMPUS ANNOUNCEMENTS

Autism Acceptance Month: Coin Drive & Walk

This April, our school community will celebrate Autism Acceptance Month with a schoolwide coin drive through May 7th

Students will have the opportunity to contribute spare change through their Pride groups, with all funds raised going directly to support our Harbor classrooms—helping provide meaningful resources and experiences for students. After two weeks, students have raised over $1000 for our Harbor classrooms.

We will conclude the month with our Autism Acceptance Walk on May 8th, a time for our community to come together in celebration of neurodiversity and inclusion.

If you are interested in participating or learning more, please reach out to Ms. Donaldson (jdonaldson@valorcollegiate.org).

We are excited to invite you to our upcoming State of Valor Town Hall on Saturday, May 2nd at 9:30 am.
This in-person event will take place at the Compass Center and will be hosted by our CEO, Todd Dickson.

During this session, we will:

  • Review key insights from the 2025–2026 Family Survey
  • Share where Valor currently stands as a network
  • Provide a forward-looking update on our priorities and plans for the 2026–2027 school year

This is an important opportunity for families to stay informed, hear directly from leadership, and continue strengthening our partnership as a community.

Event Details:

Location: Compass Center
Date: Saturday, May 2nd
Time: 9:30am

We hope you can join us for this important conversation.

CELEBRATIONS & COMMUNITY CONNECTION

As April comes to a close and we move into May, we’re invited to both reflect and look ahead, honoring the traditions and lived experiences that continue to shape our community. This season of transition reminds us of the many identities, histories, and perspectives that strengthen who we are together. During this time, we recognize Arab American Heritage Month, Asian American & Pacific Islander Heritage Month, Autism Acceptance Month, and Genocide Awareness Month.

Upcoming Religious & National Observances

  • April 14–May 3 | Ridván (Bahá’í): Commemorates Bahá’u’lláh’s declaration of his mission; holy days include April 21, April 29, and May 2.

TN Voices is launching the Beyond the Screen Challenge, a one-week screen reduction initiative for Tennessee teens in conjunction with Children’s Mental Health Action Week.
