Upcoming Religious & National Observances
April at Valor is a meaningful season of reflection and celebration. It invites us to honor the pioneers, traditions, and lived experiences that enrich our shared history and strengthen our community today. This month, we stand in solidarity with Arab American Heritage Month, Asian American & Pacific Islander Heritage Month, Autism Acceptance Month, and Genocide Awareness Month, among others. Together, these observances call us to deepen our understanding, elevate diverse voices, and build stronger connections across our community.
- April 5 | Pascha (Easter): Celebrates the resurrection of Jesus in Eastern Christianity.
- April 10 | Day of Silence: A GLSEN-sponsored event where students take a vow of silence to protest the silencing of LGBTQ+ individuals due to bias and harassment.
- April 12 | Pascha (Eastern Orthodox Christian): Commemorates the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
- April 14 | Vaisakhi/Baisakhi (Sikh): Marks the founding of the Khalsa; Sikhs gather at Gurdwaras to celebrate community and faith.
- April 14 | Yom Hashoah (Jewish): Holocaust Remembrance Day, honoring the six million Jews murdered and the resilience of survivors
