WHOLE-CAMPUS ANNOUNCEMENTS:

Thank you for your flexibility and support this past Tuesday in ensuring your student was present and ready for ACT testing. We know mornings like that require extra coordination, and we are grateful for your partnership in helping our students arrive prepared and on time.

Your support plays an important role in setting our students up for success, and we truly appreciate you being part of that effort.

VALOR FAMILY GROUP: FAMILY ENGAGEMENT ANNOUNCEMENTS:

April at Valor is a season of reflection and celebration. It invites us to honor the pioneers, traditions, and lived experiences that enrich our shared history and strengthen our community today. This month, we stand in solidarity and celebration with several key observances:

Arab American Heritage

Asian American & Pacific Islander Heritage

Autism Acceptance

Genocide Awareness

…. And more.

Upcoming Religious & National Observances

We recognize that many of our families will be observing sacred traditions this month. Please see the dates below as a guide for our community:

  • March 29 | Palm Sunday (Eastern Orthodox): Commemorating the entry of Jesus Christ into Jerusalem.
  • April 2 – 10 | Passover (Pesach): This eight-day “Feast of Unleavened Bread” celebrates the Jewish people’s exodus from enslavement. Please note that on April 2–3 and April 8–9, many members of our Jewish community will refrain from work and school activities.
  • April 2 | Theravada New Year: In Theravada countries the New Year is celebrated on the first full moon day in April.
  • April 2 | Holy Thursday (Maundy Thursday): Commemorating the Last Supper before the Crucifixion.
  • April 3 | Holy Friday (Good Friday): Commemorating the Crucifixion of Jesus Christ.
  • April 5 | Pascha (Easter): Celebrating the resurrection of Jesus in Eastern Christianity.

Community Connections

We encourage our families to engage with the vibrant culture of Nashville through local events. Some include:

  • Nashville Cherry Blossom Festival: April 11, 2026
  • Earth Day Festival: April 18, 2026

We are grateful to walk alongside such a diverse and dedicated community of families.

12TH GRADE ANNOUNCEMENTS

Core Team Meetings

The Postsecondary Success Team is beginning to host Senior Core Team Meetings! The main purpose of this meeting is to assist you and your family in comparing postsecondary options and arriving at an exciting and affordable choice. Bring acceptance letters and aid packages as well as your student’s completed Postsecondary Plan (you can review this with your students ahead of the meeting) to facilitate this process.

The meeting should be in-person, including student AND family. This ensures a comprehensive decision that everyone agrees on. These meetings are mandatory and will be counted as a summative grade (unless both parents and students complete the opt out form from your student’s counselor – in which case you will be excused from the assignment). Please be sure to schedule meetings during non-core content classes only (ex: I Block, Journalism, Personal Finance, etc.). Meetings will last about 30 minutes and will be available from 3/16-4/24.

Please email your student’s postsecondary success counselor with any questions.

Graduation
Graduation will take place on Sunday, May 17, at 5:00 PM at the Gaylord Opryland Events Center (2806 Opryland Drive, Nashville, TN 37214).
