Fire Arms Instruction: Upcoming Morning Meeting <Revised Date>
In 2024, the Tennessee General Assembly passed the following legislation, requiring instruction of firearms safety in schools, outlined in Tenn. Code Ann. § 49-6-1016. We will share a state provided video with our students to watch and take the opportunity to reintroduce our security team with our students. We will do this at the following dates during Morning Meeting (MSs) and will have a member of the security team there to introduce themselves to students. You can find the dates below:
Flagship 6th and 8th grade: April 15th (new date)
Flagship 5th and 7th grade: April 14th (new date)
If you are curious to see more about the state law, you can review the following materials from the state and see the slides we will share with students as well.
