Book Fair Announcements
I hope you’re excited about the Book Fair! It’ll be here before we know it! Here’s a couple important reminders:
We will be offering a special early preview of the Book Fair on Friday, October 31st during the parent-teacher conferences. After that, students will have the opportunity to make purchases at the book fair on their assigned day during compass class.
Tuesday 11/4 – 6th grade
Wednesday 11/5 – 8th grade
Thursday 11/6 – 5th grade
Friday 11/7 – 7th grade
Students can make purchases on their assigned date and can pay for their purchases with money (card or cash) or you can create an e-wallet for them here: Create an E-Wallet
Looking to help buy books for students who might need assistance? You can contribute to our school fund that helps students buy books! Help Buy a Book or Two for a Student or Two

Nashville Community Celebrations
As fall settles in, our community continues to gather for meaningful celebrations and important observances. This season highlights the importance of remembrance, service, and connection.
National & Cultural Observances
- Oct. 31: Halloween – a day for costumes, creativity, and community fun.
- Oct. 31: Reformation Day – observed in many Christian traditions, marking Martin Luther’s call for renewal in the church.
- Nov. 1: All Saints’ Day – honoring saints and loved ones who inspire faith and resilience.
- Nov. 2: All Souls’ Day – a day of remembrance for those who have passed, celebrated in many cultures with prayer, reflection, and family rituals.

- Nov. 1 – Community Clean-Up Event and Celebration at Cole Elementary: Arabic | Burmese | English | Kurdish | Nepali | Spanish
- Nov. 4 – All Children Excel Nashville’s November Quarterly Meeting
- Nov. 8–9: Celebrate Reading! with Book’em at the Nashville Zoo. Families can enjoy story stations, animal encounters, and hands-on activities. Guests are encouraged to donate new or gently used children’s books in exchange for free attraction tickets. Volunteers are also needed to help collect books and engage young readers. Family Tip
As the holiday season approaches, take time to check in with your child about how they’re feeling. Ask what they’re most excited about, what feels stressful, and how your family can support one another. These conversations open the door to stronger mental health and deeper family connection.

We have reached the last week of our Food Drive with Second Harvest. Please feel free to send your scholar to school with 1-2 of the items listed below to help us reach our goal. Together, we can make a difference for families in our community!

Valor will be hosting its first Multicultural Festival to celebrate the many cultures that make up our incredible community! The event will feature performances, food, art, and activities representing cultures from our diverse community and we’d love for our staff and students to be part of it.
Families, please consider signing up to host a booth, lead an activity, or support a performance and encourage your students to get involved too!

We are gauging interest in adding Middle School girls’ flag football in the spring. Please complete this interest form if interested in learning more information
Sports Physicals
Updated sports physical paperwork will be needed if a student makes any athletics team. Paperwork is NOT NEEDED before tryouts. If your scholar makes a team, they will need to have proper paperwork uploaded to Final Forms before being allowed to practice.

Valor Esports & Knights Update!
Congrats to Brandon W. for advancing to the Middle School Super Smash Bros. Playoffs! In Fortnite, VCP Esports players Raul F. and Alex A. are tied for first place, while the Valor Knights, Aalim S. (ranked 8th) and Aazim S. (ranked 26th) are making moves in Chess.
Both teams are competing against schools from 20 states across the Central Region. Proud of our Valor gamers and huge thanks to Mr. Paul for your leadership and dedication!
