WHOLE-CAMPUS ANNOUNCEMENTS:

What an incredible week for our school community! This past Friday, our Volleyball Team competed in the State Finals at MTSU and brought home their 2nd State Championship in a row! We are so proud of our student-athletes for their dedication, teamwork, and Wildcat spirit, and grateful to all of you who came out to cheer them on or supported from afar. Our students had a blast celebrating together, and it was a moment we’ll never forget.

We are thrilled to share that Dr. Bradford will be returning from paternity leave this coming week. We look forward to welcoming him back to the team. It truly has been a pleasure supporting and getting to know the Lower School Community better. I look forward to all of the future success of our Wildcats!

9 – 11th Grade Practice ACT 10/30

All 9 – 11th grade students will take a full-length practice ACT on Thursday, October 30th. 12th grade students are excused from school for a postsecondary exploration day (we encourage students to use this day to visit potential schools or further their PSS research on postsecondary options). Arrival time to school on this day is our standard 7:30am and dismissal will be at 1:40pm for all 9 – 11th grade students. Please arrange transportation accordingly.

Please also make sure that your student comes to school on this day with a charged chromebook (and charger to be safe), calculator, and writing utensil.

If you have any questions about this ACT, please contact Lisa Ladd (LLadd@valorcollegiate.org).

October 31st Report Card Conferences

Students will not attend class on Friday, October 31st. Instead, teachers will spend the day in conferences with caregivers about students’ performance in Quarter 1. We would love for you to sign up for a meeting

If you have multiple students attending Valor College Prep, you will complete the sign up form once for each of your students. We will arrange for as many of your student’s teachers to be present (whether virtual or in-person, though we do strongly recommend in-person) as possible during your selected meeting time.

The deadline to sign up is Sunday, October 26th.

Family Tip

As the holiday season approaches, take time to check in with your child about how they’re feeling. Ask what they’re most excited about, what feels stressful, and how your family can support one another. These conversations open the door to stronger mental health and deeper family connection.
