Book Fair Coming Soon – Volunteers Needed!
Greetings, Valor families!
I am happy to announce that the Scholastic Book Fair will be returning to Valor Flagship October 28-November 1. Our theme this year is “In My Book Fair Era.”
Next, we need parent volunteers! Are you able to give a couple hours of your time to help our book fair run smoothly? The success of our book fair helps our school library. Volunteering also helps you meet other parents and possibly see your kid at school!

6th and 8th Grade Health Screenings
Opt out form deadline: Sunday, October 20
In support of our commitment to promote healthy learners, all 6th and 8th scholars are scheduled to receive health screenings on October 22 and 23 at Flagship and October 30 and November 5 at Voyager. These services are at no cost to you and are recommended by the state. However parents have the right to opt their scholars out of these screenings.
The scheduled screenings are:
- Vision Screening (6th and 8th grade only)
- Hearing Screening (6th and 8th grade only)
- Body Max Index (BMI) Screening (6th, 8th, and 12th grade)
- Blood Pressure Screening (6th, 8th, and 12th grade)
If you do not want your scholar to participate in these screenings, please complete this form: 24.25 Health Screening Opt-Out Form

Mark your calendars for the Middle School Bingo/ Game Night on Thursday, October 24th from 6-8PM! It is a fun experience for scholars, parents, and caregivers. The bingo card winners get to choose a prize from the prize table donated by our wonderful volunteers! If you would like to volunteer and earn a homework pass for your scholar/scholars.
