A Fire Safety Announcement from the State of Tennessee

The more prepared we are for a possible fire, the safer we will be. Periodically checking that your smoke detector batteries are working and that they are changed regularly will help continue to keep our community safe.

Chromebook Shutdown

All student Chromebooks will be shut down for the duration of Spring Break – we look forward to seeing students back on March 16!

Fire Arms Instruction: Upcoming Morning Meeting/Wingding 

In 2024, the Tennessee General Assembly passed the following legislation, requiring instruction of firearms safety in schools, outlined in Tenn. Code Ann. § 49-6-1016. We will share a state provided video with our students to watch and take the opportunity to reintroduce our security team with our students. We will do this at the following dates during Morning Meeting (MSs) or WingDing (VCP) and will have a member of the security team there to introduce themselves to students. You can find the dates below: 

March 25th

5th and 7th grade morning meeting: Flagship 

10th Grade WingDing: VCP 

March 26th 

6th and 8th grade morning meeting: Flagship

9th and 11th grade WingDings: VCP 

April 1st

5th and 7th grade morning meeting: Voyager

April 2nd

CELEBRATIONS & COMMUNITY CONNECTION

March at Valor invites us to honor the pioneers and traditions that enrich our shared history. This month, we recognize Women’s History, Irish American, and Kurdish Heritage.

National Observances

  • Now–March 19 | Ramadan (Islamic): A month of fasting, prayer, reflection, and community care.
  • March 4 | Holi (Hindu): A spring “festival of colors” dedicated to love and sharing.
  • March 4 | Hola Mohalla (Sikh): A martial arts parade coinciding with Holi.
  • March 8 | International Women’s Day: Celebrating the global achievements of women.
  • March 16 | Lailat al-Qadr (Islamic): The “Night of Power” commemorating the revelation of the Qur’an.
