Voyager Book Fair
The Scholastic Book Fair is coming to Voyager January 26-30! We are excited for students and families to be able to purchase books for their home library and also help us raise funds for our school library. This year, we are hoping to purchase more books for our non-fiction section, add to our mystery and graphic novel sections, and replace some of our older books.
- The fair will be open the mornings of January 28 and 29 for families to shop starting at 7:30 a.m. before the award ceremonies. Students will also have the opportunity to attend the book fair during their Compass class.
- If you would like to add money to an eWallet for your student to spend, here are the instructions on how to do that. The fair will also accept cash and cards.
- We also need volunteers to help at the fair! If you would like to help support students checking out at the fair or finding books, please sign up here, we really appreciate the support!

School Safety and Immigration: What Families Should Know
At Valor, the safety and well-being of our students and staff remain our highest priorities. We want to begin by sharing our FAQ document[available in English and Spanish], which provides clear information about school safety, family preparedness, and how Valor supports students during times of uncertainty. We encourage all families to review this resource first.
We recognize that recent changes in immigration enforcement may raise questions or concerns for some members of our community. While these issues may not affect every family in the same way, we believe that access to clear information and proactive planning supports the well-being of our entire school community.
In times of uncertainty, preparation is key. Families may find the following steps helpful:
- ✔ Ensure emergency contacts are up to date so trusted adults can be reached if needed.
- ✔ Review and update medical forms to reflect any medications or treatments your child may require.
- ✔ Confirm that emergency contacts have current information for key family members.
- ✔ Create a family emergency plan and talk with your child about who to contact and what to do if an unexpected situation arises.
- ✔ Consider completing a Power of Attorney for Care of a Minor Child. This Tennessee legal form allows a trusted adult to care for your child if you are temporarily unable to do so. [Access the form here.]
We are committed to supporting all Valor families and will continue to share resources as they become available. If you have questions or need additional support, please reach out to aharmon@valorcollegiate.org
