Job Title: Hospitality Chair

Job Description: The Hospitality Chair is responsible for overseeing the execution of Faculty Luncheons and Teacher Appreciation Week for their assigned campus. They will work closely with Valor Staff and the VFG Core Team to identify and address hospitality needs within the community. The Hospitality Chair will serve a 1-2 year term and will be expected to identify and train their replacement.

Responsibilities:

Faculty Luncheons and Teacher Appreciation Week:

  • Coordinate the details of Faculty Luncheons, including location, time, and logistics.
  • Manage SignUpGenius or a similar platform to organize volunteer sign-ups and schedules.
  • Recruit and direct volunteers for the luncheons, ensuring sufficient coverage and assistance.
  • When possible, be present on campus during luncheons to oversee operations and ensure smooth execution.

Valor Community Leadership:

  • Commit to being a leader in the Valor community by actively participating in events and activities.
  • Assist in Valor Family Group (VFG) events by playing small roles, such as welcoming guests or working at sign-in tables.
  • Support other hospitality-related initiatives and activities within the Valor community as needed.

Consultation and Collaboration:

  • Consult with Valor Staff and the VFG Core Team to identify hospitality needs and develop strategies to address them effectively.
  • Provide input and suggestions for improving hospitality-related processes and initiatives.
  • Collaborate with other committee members to ensure the smooth functioning of the hospitality department.

Term of Service and Succession Planning:

  • Serve as the Hospitality Chair for a 1-2 year term, fulfilling the responsibilities outlined.
  • Identify and train a suitable replacement towards the end of the term, ensuring a smooth transition of responsibilities.

Requirements:

  • Strong organizational and coordination skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with staff, volunteers, and other committee members.
  • Availability to attend events and activities within the Valor community.

Time Commitments:

TaskTime Commitment
Plan teacher luncheons and Teacher Appreciation Week3 hrs/quarter 
Attend VFG Mtgs, School Events1-2 hrs./month
