VCP ONLY: Remote Learning Day tomorrow Friday 5/12

Dear VCP Families,

We are writing to notify you that we are shifting to a remote learning day tomorrow due to significant staffing challenges that include COVID-19. With a very high volume of staff unable to report to work, Valor College Prep will be unable to provide in-person instruction to students tomorrow, Friday May 12th. We are following all procedures and requirements outlined in state law, and this is the first remote learning day we have had at VCP this year.

  • Middle Schools (Flagship & Voyager) are NOT impacted by the staffing issue, so they will be having in-person instruction tomorrow, and it is important that they attend school as normal as they are in the middle of MAP testing – the normal attendance policy will apply.
  • VCP Students will not report to school during this time and will receive asynchronous assignments to complete at home.
  • In accordance with the law, attendance will be taken using a google form that students will complete as part of each of their assignments. Please make sure your scholar completes these so they are marked as present tomorrow.
  • In accordance with state law, school meals and IEP services will be provided as any other day.
  • 9th-11th Grade scholars and families will receive an email by 7:30am tomorrow, Friday May 12th with a link to the VCP Homework Agenda, which will contain all assignments for the day.
  • The 12th Grade field trip is continuing as planned and parents should follow the original guidance given for their scholars.

Should you have any questions about tomorrow’s plan, please reach out to me, as Ms. Giblin is on the Senior Trip. Thank you in advance for your cooperation and our apologies for the late notice.

All my best,

Todd Dickson
