8/8/2022: First Day of School

9/2/2022: No School: Professional Development

9/5/2022: No School: Labor Day

First Day of School Arrival & Dismissal

We’re so excited for our first day of school on Monday, August 8th! A couple of things to note:

  1. Monday is our regular early release day for middle school. Dismissal will start on all Mondays (including the first day of school) at 2:30. Tuesday-Friday dismissal starts at 3:25.
  2. At the start of the year, as our team and families get used to our dismissal routine, it will take a good bit longer than it will later on in the school year. We appreciate your patience and understanding in advance.
  3. If you are waiting in line, please be mindful of blocking businesses and side streets. We want to be good neighbors and so please make sure you are stopping short of business driveways or streets.

Please make sure you are communicating with your scholar how they are getting home for the day so they know what to expect at the end of the day. Thank you in advance for your patience, dismissal at the start of the year always takes a long time. As we all get the hang of it, we’ll get quicker!

Voyager Homework Agenda

You can find our homework agenda for Voyager at this link. Staff updates this homework agenda Monday mornings so scholars and families are aware of the homework for the week. The Homework Agenda is also linked on Valor’s website here.

2022-2023 Meal Plan

As most of you are already aware, the statewide “all students eat free” program has officially ended. As a result Valor will be moving back to paid meals this year for those who don’t qualify for free or reduced meals. We are aware that MNPS will be using federal funding to support free meals for one more year, however, we are not covered under MNPS for this funding. We ask that everyone complete the FRL application that was included in the family community agreement. If you have any questions regarding the meal policy, please email info@valorcollegiate.org. Thank you.

2022-2023 Syllabi

After-school programs List

Limited Availability of Scholarships

FACE believes in providing every scholar with the experiences and adventure our after school programming offers, so we have made available a limited number of scholarships to cover programming fees.  To apply for a scholarship, please fill out our Scholarship Request Form.

Valor Theatre Troupe is back in Action!

International Thespian Society Troupe #9234 has a new director and signups are now open!  This theatrical honor society meets for 1-hour per week where you’ll have an opportunity to learn more about acting, improvisation, tech theatre, and engage in meaningful community service projects!  For more information please contact amiller@valorcollegiate.org

After-School Program Manager

Our recently hired after school programs manager has resigned to take on a director’s position with another organization.  Though this comes as a bit of a surprise, we do wish her the best in her new endeavor.

What does this mean for after school programming?

While we repost the role and explore new candidates, we will be working diligently to ensure that there is no gap in programming roll out.  Fortunately, FACE has strong systems in place specifically for program roll out and we do not foresee any hitches in launching this year’s lineup of programs.

Vex Robotics Needs You!

Have you always wanted to know how robots are built & programmed?  Well we have just the opportunity for you!  Vex Robotics is seeking parent-volunteers to help after school with supervising our award winning robotics teams.  Very low lift, lots of fun watching students build, program, test, and compete with their robots!  Contact Jessica Weakley (jweakley@valorcollegiate.org) or Jennifer Sternberg (jennifer.sternberg@gmail.com) for more information.

  1. The kickoff slides are Flagship’s slides, not Voyager’s slides. Can we get Voyager’s posted? Thank you!
