CAMPUS ANNOUNCEMENTS:

Voyager Staff Transitions

As we prepare to close out the school year, we are excited to share some news of our Voyager staff transitions who will be moving on from Voyager at the end of this school year. Please send our faculty members love as they go off into new adventures. Should you have any questions about these transitions, please reach out to Ms. Pendley (npendley@valorcollegiate.org)

Emily Pearson

After 7 amazing years of teaching history at Valor, Mrs. Pearson will be leaving Valor next year. She is taking an opportunity at Ensworth middle school. She is excited about the new opportunity but will greatly miss the students, family, and community at Valor. I would not be the person I am today without my experience at Valor and I am so grateful for the opportunity to work at such a special place for so long.

Liza Guerrero

After 7 years of teaching at Valor Voyager, Mrs. Landry Guerrero will be making a big move across the sidewalk to teach 9th grade World History at VCP! She is excited to continue her work in the Valor community!

Shaina Tey

After 7 years of teaching math at Valor Voyager, Ms. Tey will be transitioning out of education and into a project management role. She is excited for this new career opportunity, and will also miss the Valor community and is deeply grateful for her time with her students.

JD Skipworth

Teaching math at Voyager has been such a great privilege and adventure for Mr. Skipworth. After six years, he is excited to start the next adventure but will miss the joy of teaching your scholar.

Ania Lukasinski

After 3 years of teaching 8th grade English at Valor Voyager, Ms. Lukasinski will be leaving Voyager to pursue a Master’s degree in Curriculum Design and Innovation, as a Rackham Merit Fellow at the University of Michigan’s School of Education. Though she is excited to return to Ann Arbor and her alma mater, she will miss Nashville and the Valor community very deeply, and hopes to return once she finishes her studies.

Felisha Harper

Ms. Harper, our Assistant Principal of academics, will transition out of her role here at Valor Voyager at the end of the year. She is headed back to the midwest where she is originally from to continue her career in educational leadership. We thank her for her time and efforts here at Valor. She will be greatly missed but we are wishing her the best of luck with her future endeavors.

Support/Connection for Valor Adoptive Families

Valor’s Compass/Culture Team is looking into providing support groups/clubs in the 22-23 school year addressing specific shared experiences, needs, or challenges. We are currently assessing interest from families with scholars who are adoptees who might want to participate in a short term support group (with the potential for a longer term group/club). If this topic applies to your family, please click this link.

A permission slip was sent home last week with all scholars – please make sure that you sign and return it! The trip is no cost to families and we are looking forward to celebrating the end of the year.

Helpful Information to know:
