Progress reports will be sent via email this week! As always, you can check your scholar’s grade via Illuminate’s parent portal. 

Register Now! Vaccine/Booster Clinic: Sat 11/20 & Sat 12/11

In partnership with Vanderbilt University Medical Center, we are thrilled to host a Pfizer vaccine clinic for students 5 and older AND booster shots for all fully vaccinated individuals who are at 6 months or more after their initial series. For boosters, Pfizer, Moderna and J&J will be available.

Space is limited. Valor community members are given preference through MONDAY 11/15, so please be sure to sign up soon.

Notice to 6th and 8th Grade Families-Hearing and Vision Screenings, Blood Pessure and BMI sceeenings- Opt out letters

We will be conducting Hearing and Vision Screenings for 6th and 8th graders on January 11, 2022 through a company called “Well Child”. This is a state mandated screening, and is no cost to you. If you would prefer your child not be screened, you must fill out the attached form and return it to your school’s front office no later than December 10, 2021.

The school nurse will also be conducting state mandated Blood Pressure and BMI screenings for 6th and 8th grade scholars starting January 17, 2021. Blood pressure sceenings involve a cuff placed around the scholar’s arm to measure blood pressure, and BMI involves measuring height and weight to calculate the BMI. These are quick, non-invasive screenings that measure important health metrics. If you would prefer your scholar to not be screened, you must ill out the attached opt out form and return it to your school’s front office no later than December 10, 2021. FAC Bingo & Game Night – Fun Update!

Valor will host its annual Middle School Family Bingo Night on Thursday, November 18th from 6-8pm in the Valor Flagship Upper School Common Room. This is a great opportunity to get to know new people in our community and have some fun! If you’re able to help with volunteering during the event, please click on the Sign Up Genius listed below. We only ask for an hour of your time. All volunteers earn a Homework Pass for their scholar!

UPDATE!!! We will be collecting canned goods and other non-perishable items for the Second Harvest Food Bank at the event!  Bring donated items and you will be entered in a raffle for gift cards (One raffle ticket per canned good, up to three tickets max per person). Remember to volunteer to bring a baked good! They will be used as prizes for the winning bingo card. Be creative, and you will earn bragging rights for the 2021 Bingo Baker – competition is tough, Susan Love has earned this title for two years running!
